Custard's CAT Division Prepares for Hurricane Season

Atlanta, GA - June 15, 2006 - The CIA Catastrophe Division today announced its expansion and preparedness training for the 2006 CAT season.

“Last year our CAT Division employees did an excellent job handling the massive number of claims caused by Hurricanes Katrina, Rita and Wilma. Hurricane Katrina was a catastrophe of great magnitude that none of us could have imagined, and we feel very successful in the professionalism and quick response that our CAT Team was able to provide to our customers under those difficult circumstances,” stated David String, Director of CAT Operations.

The CAT Division has worked steadily throughout the year to get ready for this year’s catastrophe season. The CAT Team has been expanded with additional support staff, as well as CAT specialists with extensive experience and training in the area of CAT claims handling.

New employees who were added to the CAT Team since last season include: JoLynda Daugherty, CAT Supervisor; Caroline Hudson, Property TPA Manager; Debbie Reed and Julie Sharpe, Administrative Assistants; and numerous CAT claims adjusters. CIA is currently interviewing for an additional property TPA adjuster.

CIA has held several CAT training seminars throughout the year and currently has over 300 catastrophe adjusters who have successfully attended the seminars. Custard plans to utilize MSB’s IntegriClaim™ estimating software to offer its customers fast response time and a quality product. CIA is also conducting comprehensive training with its property adjusters nationwide.

The CAT Division’s one year anniversary is right around the corner. “Time has flown by very quickly due to the fast pace and exciting events that have taken place this past year,” stated David String.

String further stated, “I have a very dedicated and proficient team of professionals who are specifically selected for their catastrophe team experience and expertise in catastrophe losses. We constantly monitor all weather patterns and channels, as well as new and better ways of reporting and responding to our customers needs. Regardless of where or when a catastrophe loss occurs, we stand ready for deployment at a moment’s notice with one of the most well-trained CAT Teams in the country.”
